Don’t we all yearn for that? But the definitions of what that kind of life would look like are all over the place!
When I moved from Waukegan, Illinois to Arlington, Virginia back in the summer of ’64, it was a rough go for me. A navy brat, every move was harder, new friendships with no history ever more difficult to navigate, and going from the relative innocence of sock hops and girl friends in the mid-west to the harder sophistication in the east of kids that drove cars and dated made it especially tough to fit in. At my first visit to the local youth group I wore a dress and was shocked that people wore shorts and cutoffs – to a church!
Things to think deeply about… have fruitful conversations and prayerfully dreaming together to find solutions … to then prophetically engage and network, working for the good with community, as God gives wisdom and leading
